THE largest independent pharmacy chain in the North-East is looking to double in size and create jobs.
HF Healthcare Limited already owns 20 community pharmacies across the region, including in Middlesbrough, Peterlee, Gateshead and Newcastle, and intends to buy another 20 over the next two years.
The family-owned business, which has seen its turnover climb to £30m, employs 220 people and has its head office in Cramlington, Northumberland.
It was set up by husband and wife team Alex and Anne Holliday in 1995 and last year bought the Baron Group, a group of six pharmacies and a share of two health centres.
