NEWCASTLE United ace Nobby Solano cheated death when his 155mph sportscar ploughed into a tree in a high-speed smash.
The Magpies midfielder's powerful black BMW 645, hit the pavement then the tree, before it flipped over and burst into flames in his native Peru.
Solano was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a minor head injuries.
The BMW, which has a 4.4 litre, 325 horsepower V8 engine, was a write off.
The Peru international was on holiday in Lima at the time of the smash and according to local reports, blamed the accident on jet lag.
Speaking from Lima, Solano said: "Thank God I'm fine.
"It was because of driving fast. I hit the pavement and lost control of the car.
"I think I've felt the time-changing between England and Peru."
