A TEENAGER who made indecent suggestions to a girl was kneed in the groin.
The incident happened as the 17-year-old was walking along St Cuthbert's Way, Newton Aycliffe, at about 9.30pm on Monday.
As she approached the junction with Sheraton Road, two youths, who had been walking behind her, stopped her.
One made a sexual request and the girl was pushed up against a brick bus shelter.
She put up a fight and managed to knee one of the youths in the groin. The pair ran off when a Renault Clio drove past.
The girl suffered minor bruising and was left shaken.
Both youths were white and in their late teens. One was 5ft 5in with short, light brown streaked hair and wearing a Fred Perry jumper with dark and light hoops, Adidas tracksuit trousers. He smelled strongly of drink.
His accomplice was about 5ft 9in with dark, spiked hair and wearing a pale T-shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Newton Aycliffe police on 0845 60 60 365.
