SHERBURN Village Parish Council has launched its own website.
It was produced for the parish council by Dr Simon Stobart, a principal lecturer and postgraduate programmes co-ordinator, and Michelle McNay, a student from The University of Sunderland's school of computing and technology.
Parish council chairman Councillor Stuart Walton said: "We are grateful to the university for their assistance in bringing Sherburn Village Parish Council into the 21st Century.
"We wish to thank Dr Stobart, his department and especially former student Ms McNay, who is now running her own company, Spider Link, for their hard work and dedication in producing our website.
"We hope that everyone who logs on will find it both informative and interesting.
"The website does not just give information on the workings of the parish council, it is a facility for the whole community.
"It gives details of events and groups, lists local businesses and shops, useful telephone numbers and has links to the local authorities.
"For people looking for information on Sherburn Village, there are items on schools, churches and a map showing the public footpaths plus much more."
The website is www. sherburnvillage.org.uk
