EAST Durham families have been invited to join an organised bike ride along the Hart to Haswell cycle route.
It will will take place on Sunday, led by cycle marshals, starting at Castle Eden Village Hall at 10am. The course will cover eight miles of the National Cycle Route.
The family day has been organised by Easington Primary Care Trust (PCT) and Durham County Council to encourage more people to take up cycling and become fitter.
Stewart Doyle, the PCT's Get Active organiser, said: "Cycling is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and keep fit.
"This ride is a leisurely one which riders of all ages and abilities will enjoy, and as a qualified cycle marshal will be supervising, it will be a safe and fun day for all the family.''
Anyone taking part is required to wear a safety helmet. Bikes and helmets are available free, but must be booked on 0191-569 2847.
