A TEAM of brave horse riders are to trek across the Andes to raise money for cancer research.
The four -Tracy Thompson, Sheila Ashby, her son Ian and Janet Amos -from Boltby, will head from Argentina across the mountains into Chile for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Ms Thompson said: "We are very much looking forward to it and it will certainly be different. Although we are used to riding in hills over here, once we get to South America, it will be rather different.
"The weather over there in the Andes is also going to get very cold the higher we go."
The eight-day trip will start in Argentina's lake district region of the El Mauso Valley in November. The team of 40 riders will camp in tents during the journey.
The four still need to raise £1,500 each to pay for the trip and are holding fundraising events.
On Friday, a Sixties and Seventies night will take place at the Divan Hotel, Sutton Road. Tickets are £12.50, available on (01845) 537676.
The four are keen riders at home and have taken part in charity horse treks in Iceland and Mongolia.
