A COMMUNITY learning centre in the heart of Bishop Auckland has raised more than £100 for charity through an open day.
Bishop Auckland College's Newgate Community Learning Centre raised £117.10, and donated the money to The Great North Air Ambulance.
The money was raised through a tombola and raffle.

Michelle Postma, Newgate Centre supervisor, said: "It is wonderful that the students at the centre are so generous when it comes to giving money for a local charity, and the fact that we have raised £117.10 from one open day shows their commitment and community spirit."
Newgate Community Learning Centre is in Newgate Street, and is open six days a week. It can be contacted on (01388) 664555.
