REVELLERS could be forgiven for thinking they had had one too many when 40 bunny rabbits dressed in pink hit the pubs in a Shildon.
The group of women embarked on a marathon pub crawl around the town last month to boost funds for Cancer Research UK and to raise a glass or two in memory of friends and family who they had lost to the disease.
Last week, the group of volunteers and friends from the Jubilee Fields Centre in Shildon, presented the proceeds to Lindsay Kay, the charity's community fundraiser.
Barbara Fuller, who helped organise the event, said: "We wore bunny rabbit ears and noses and our pink Cancer Research T-Shirts. The town didn't know what hit it, but everyone welcomed us and were more than happy to give us a penny or two. We managed to raise £1,000.''
Ms Kay said: "I think they have done a marvellous job to raise as much as this.''
