THE Darlington branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has published its first full guide for drinkers in the area for several years.
The 24-page glossy brochure has been published as a supplement to the CAMRA group's regular newsletter, Darlington Drinker.
The guide includes information about pubs and breweries throughout the area, covering Darlington, Newton Aycliffe, Teesdale and parts of North Yorkshire.
Guide editor Brendan Boyle said: "This is our first full guide for many years, and the biggest and best.
"It contains details of 130 pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurants and off-licences.
"They range from basic boozers to classy country retreats.
"It is something for every pocket and occasion, with only one thing in common, they serve traditional British beer in the most traditional way - real ale."
A survey by CAMRA members found 44 different real ales regularly on sale in the area. Of the outlets in the guide, 70 also stocked guest beers.
The guide is available from usual Darlington Drinker outlets and Darlington's tourist information centre in Horsemarket.
