PARENTS are being given the opportunity to ensure their youngsters are safely strapped into their cars.
Road safety officers, health visitors and firefighters, are holding a child car seat checking day at the Tesco supermarket, at Catterick Garrison, between 11am and 3pm today.
The team will be checking car seats to ensure they are suitable for the car they are installed in, and that they are properly fitted.
They will also give advice on proposed changes to the seatbelt law, which come into force in September.
The county's executive member for environmental services, Clare Wood, said: "We hold these days regularly and they are always well-attended by parents who want to ensure their children are as safe as possible while travelling in the car."
For advice on child restraints and car seats, call the road safety team on (01609) 532614.
