THREE new benches have been installed in Darlington's revamped South Park, in memory of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
The town's Residents' Panel, with the help of Darlington Building Society, raised more than £1,200 for the three benches and brass dedication plaques.
The benches have been put in place in the park's rose garden, which was one of many new features to be created as part of a £3.9m National Lottery-funded refurbishment over the past few years.
Past and present members of Darlington Residents' Panel joined park manager Paul Place to unveil the new benches.
Lee Vasey, Darlington Council's cabinet member for leisure services, said: "These benches are a wonderful addition to South Park and their unveiling follows the hugely successful re-opening festival that took place at the weekend.
"I would like to thank Darlington Residents' Panel and Darlington Building Society for their efforts."
The launch of the newly-renovated South Park took place on Sunday.
