MORE than 300 young footballersare to attend a junior presentation on Sunday.
Consett YMCA Juniors' annual presentation takes place from 11am to 4pm at the town's Empire Theatre.
Officials from Consett AFC will be guests of honour at the awards, bringing with them the Arngrove Northern League Division Two trophy, which was presented to them at Belle Vue Park last week.
The ceremony features two main awards - the Paul Brown Memorial Trophy, to be presented to the best goalkeeper in all teams in the club, and the Hargreaves Top Scorer Trophy, which goes to the highest goalscorer.
The goalscoring trophy is a new award, provided by the Hargreaves group, which sponsored football in Consett at all levels, from the town's team to the under-sixes, for the first time.
Each of the club's 26 teams also has individual awards for most improved player, top goalscorer, players' player and player of the year. The teams will also receive trophies to acknowledge their participation throughout the season.
Organiser David Pyke said: "Last year, we had Peter Ramage, from Newcastle United, and we're still hoping he'll make it again this year. Even without him, it will be a special day for the young players to share in Consett's success."
