A FINE art photographer will present an exhibition of unique black and white landscape photography at a Northallerton art gallery throughout next month.
But before the exhibition, which runs from June 3 until June 30, Paul Gallagher will give an informal talk on his approach to black and white landscape photography. This will be followed by a one-day workshop on June 3.
Mr Gallagher studied geology and earth science at Liverpool and is based in Merseyside. He has dedicated his photography to Northern England and the Scottish Highlands for more than 20 years, and photographs in medium and large format.
After completing his studies he began to work professionally at a commercial studio in Liverpool, before teaching photography part-time at Southport College. He has been named an associate of the Royal Photographic Society.
Mr Gallagher is a regular speaker to photographic societies and has received several commissions from organisations such as the Environment Agency and the BBC.
He also writes for several photographic publications about his techniques, approach and the use of large format equipment and digital image production.
Mr Gallagher's talk, which will be hosted by Joe Cornish, will be on June 2 from 7pm to 9pm. There is no cost but places are limited, so call the gallery to check ticket availability.
The workshop will take place on June 3. For full details, availability and cost, contact Clare Moore at the Joe Cornish Gallery, Northallerton, on (01609) 777404.
