TWO musical ensembles from a North-East school have been chosen to play at a national festival later this year.
The recorder group and the chamber orchestra at Yarm Preparatory School have been invited to perform at the National Festival of Music for Youth, in Birmingham, in July.
Both groups took part in the regional festival, held at Peterlee in March, and have secured places in the final.
The recorder group's performance included a composition written by three members of year six.
Alison Russian, head of music at Yarm Prep School, said: "The visit to Birmingham promises to be an unforgettable experience for the children."
