Redcar Operatic Society is putting on a musical extravaganza.
The show, called Step Into a Musical World, features songs from the likes of Cole Porter, Queen and The Phantom of the Opera. The production will be held at Middlesbrough Theatre from Monday, May 15, to Saturday, May 20, at 7.30pm. WEDDING FAIR: Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's first wedding fair will be held in the grounds of Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar, on Sunday, from 11am to 4pm. The adjacent Bellamy Pavilion has about 30 displays from local businesses. Displays will include florists, bridal wear, chocolate fountains, hand-made stationary, wedding transport, cosmetics, bridal jewellery, wedding cakes and travel. Admission is £2.
GRINDING DAY: Sunday is National Mills Day and there will be a milling demonstration at Tocketts Mill, one mile east of Guisborough on the A173 Skelton road, from 11am to 4pm. Admission is £1.50, £1 for OAPs and 25p for children.
CHARITY TALK: Jayne Wallington, ophthalmic manager, will talk on diabetic eye complications and the retinal screening service, at the next talk of Diabetes UK South Cleveland Group. It will be held on Tuesday, at 7pm, at Redcar Central Library.
MONTHLY DO: Marske-New Marske Pensioners and Friends will hold its monthly entertainment afternoon on Tuesday, in the Cheshire Home, Marske, from 2pm to 4pm. Admission is £1.50. For more information, call Mike Findley on 07861 325720.
ANNUAL MEETING: The Friends of Locke Park will hold its annual meeting next Thursday, at 5.30pm, at the Redcar Station Business Centre, Redcar, followed by its normal meeting.
LADIES' GROUP: The Active Retired Ladies Group will meet on Monday, at 2pm, at Coatham Church Hall, Coatham Road, Redcar. Jean Stuart will talk on "A Right Royal Do".
