VISITORS to Northallerton market will see a stall with a difference this week.
As part of National Composting Week, recycling officers from Hambleton District Council will be on hand to promote the use of compost bins.
They will explain how to use them and the benefits to gardens of the products they make to the town's shoppers. Compost bins costing £6 will be on sale.
The stall will be in Northallerton High Street from 9.30am until 2pm tomorrow.
The council joined forces with compost bin supplier Blackwall several years ago to encourage as many householders as possible to think of composting as another way to recycle household waste.
Thousands have already signed up for bins, but it is hoped many more will embrace the scheme.
A 330-litre bin made from recycled plastic can be bought by Hambleton residents by calling 0870 849 4866.
