A FURNITURE store is expanding after increasing its turnover.

Simply Dutch, in Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire, has already grown in the past few years to include a cafe, conservatory and garden furniture department, as well as custom-built kitchen services.

Owner Jason Hadlow wants to extend the store further by adding another 10,000sq ft to the 20,000sq ft showroom and introducing new services.

The pine and furniture retailer has recently taken on an interior designer, a kitchen designer and an antique fireplace specialist.

In an unusual twist to the traditional nature of the business, a sports injuries clinic has also opened on site, run by remedial and sports massage therapist Nicola Nicol.

Mr Hadlow, from Yarm, said: "It's important that we can continually offer something different and the new additions to the business, especially our interiors designer and sports injuries clinic, are really making us stand out from the crowd. Our rapid growth in turnover has bucked the national retail trend."

Mr Hadlow took over Simply Dutch in early 2004. The business employs five staff.
