GOLFERS clubbed together to help a playgroup's new friends' association off to a bouncing start.
Parents at the Elm Ridge Play Group have formed a Friends group to raise money for the children.
One of the fathers, Johnnie Taylor, organised a golf tournament at Darlington Golf Club and raised £150.
The money has been used to buy a bouncy castle and slide.
Group leader Maranny Jones said: "We don't use it every day. We use it for special occasions.
"It is a great asset. It is lovely to have people raising money for us."
Elm Ridge Play Group, based at Elm Ridge Methodist Church, Carmel Road South, Darlington, has been teaching pre-school children for about 20 years. Currently, 26 children, aged two to five, attend sessions every morning.
