COUNTY Durham residents are being encouraged to compost their rubbish with the chance to win £100.
This is Compost Awareness Week, part of a drive to get people to reduce the amount of their rubbish that ends up in landfill sites.
The Waste and Resource Action Programme and Durham County Council are offering £100 in garden vouchers in a draw for people who buy composting bins from the council.
Various size bins costing from £4 to £20 are available. For details, visit www.recycle now.com/home_composting or call 0845 077 0757.
