VALE of York MP Anne McIntosh paid a visit to a DIY store to see its equality policies in action.
Miss McIntosh was at B&Q's Clifton Moor store, in York, to find out more about the company's over-50s employment scheme. It places no age restrictions on people applying to join B&Q.
Stores have also introduced improved disabled parking bays, manual and electric wheelchairs, induction hearing loops for people with a hearing impairment, as well as lower counters and help points for wheelchair users.
Miss McIntosh said: "It is essential that the talents of older workers are not wasted."
