PARENTS and visitors have been given a guided tour of a school by its pupils.
Barnard Castle School open day covered academic subjects, sport and some of the 80 activities available there. One of the highlights was a demonstration by young tennis player Finlay Tait.
The school has been ranked in the top three per cent for value added - the Government measure of how schools enhance pupil performance.
Headteacher David Ewart said: "No one tells the story better than the pupils themselves and they did a fine job guiding everyone round."
