A TEESSIDE MP is urging local people to consider fostering during this year's Foster Care Fortnight, which starts on Monday.
The North-East has a shortage of 1,300 foster carers, and Stockton South MP Dari Taylor has joined the awareness-raising campaign to reduce the deficit.
Mrs Taylor said: "We desperately need more people to put themselves forward as foster carers. There are few greater rewards than fostering a brighter future for a child."
