A TWO-TONNE T Rex rumbled into the North-East yesterday.
The model is the star of an exhibition at the Centre for Life, Newcastle, and needed a crane lift it into place.
Arriving from Paris for its only UK stop on its tour of world science centres the exhibition will be at the centre from next Saturday until September 10.
Containing 17 life-sized models of dinosaurs, the exhibition will examine whether the tyrannosaurus rex deserves its reputation as a fearsome hunter.
Dinosaur fans from across the region will have the chance to consider evidence that suggests T Rex was not the fearsome hunter of legend, but a scavenger that used its strength to claim the kills of other dinosaurs.
Terry McCartney, of the centre, said: "This is the biggest exhibition the centre has ever hosted, and getting life-sized models of T Rex into our exhibition space has certainly been a challenge.
"But it was worth all the hard work as this is an impressive exhibition."
