YOUNGSTERS from the Gala Theatre Stage School, in Durham, donned their dance gear and limbered up for their latest show.
Fame The Musical opens at the Gala Theatre on Thursday and runs until Saturday.
Following one group of students from auditions to their graduation ceremony, the show takes audiences through the highs, lows, friendships, romances and sheer hard work that is daily life for the star-struck pupils in their quest for success.
It is a case of art imitating life as the cast boasts some of the best young talent in the North-East, many of them planning to pursue a career in professional theatre.
The stage school's previous sell-out shows at Gala have included Godspell, A Chorus Line and Les Miserables.
Tickets, £10 and £8 concessions, from the box office on 0191-332 4041.
