PUPILS with a taste for healthy eating have helped their school win an award.
Bilsdale Midcable Chop Gate CofE Primary School has been presented with a gold award after achieving a 100 per cent meal take-up in the past academic year.
It follows a campaign by North Yorkshire County Council to promote healthy school meals.
Councillor John Watson, executive member for children's services, said: "I'm delighted that another one of our schools has embraced this campaign, and more importantly, that the children are willing participants and are enjoying the new healthy alternatives.
"Our message to North Yorkshire children and their parents is two-fold: to parents, please take advantage of the excellent healthy meals on offer in our schools, and to pupils, that having a good meal together is an essential part of your education."
