NEW equipment designed by a Teesside man to help athletes train for the London 2012 Olympics has been tested by a school boxing club.
The Reflex 90 was designed by England Amateur Boxing Association coach and Stockton Boxing Club founder Sid Hogg.
He took the machine to Teesdale Comprehensive School, Barnard Castle, County Durham, to test it before it goes into production.
It will go on to be used by the national and Olympic squads at Crystal Palace to help increase co-ordination, reflexes and responses.
Sports teacher Carl Lander said: "It was an honour to test the equipment and it demonstrates the high esteem Teesdale is held in, within the boxing community.
"Wouldn't it be great if some of the lads that are testing the equipment went on to be the ones that use it in the National Boxing Academies or as part of a national squad at Crystal Palace?"
