A HOUSING association will demolish 22 old people's bungalows in Spennymoor and replace them with modern homes.
Home Housing secured permission from Sedgefield Borough Council to demolish homes in Derwent Terrace and build 20 bungalows on the site. The homes will be two-bedroomed brick bungalows, including two for disabled residents, and form part of the larger Appleton Lodge sheltered housing scheme.
Andy Lee, of Home Housing, said: "The old buildings will be replaced by modern homes and address the shortage of two-bedroomed homes."
Sedgefield Borough Council approved the plans on Friday.
