PUPILS and staff at a preparatory school turned back the clock 60 years to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance.
Several other fundraising events were held at Raventhorpe Preparatory School to raise £1,014 for the service.
Children and teachers paid £1 to dress up in 1940s clothing for the day. Parents, former pupils and staff also took part in games at a ball to celebrate the school's 65th anniversary.
Pupils brought unwanted clothes and shoes to school for collection and money was donated after the school's nativity play and carol concert.
Alison Dods, chairwoman of the Friends of Raventhorpe, said: "The Friends are proud to be associated with the Great North Air Ambulance. The children have enjoyed supporting such a worthy cause."
Darlington Mayor Stella Robson visited the school to present a cheque to Sue Cave, from the Great North Air Ambulance.
More money will be presented later in the year when a representative from the service visits the school to talk to children.
