A COUPLE who spent most of their married life on the other side of the world are reliving their first holiday together.
Ronald and Joyce Walker will take a second honeymoon to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
The couple, from South Side, in Ferryhill, moved back to England in 2004 after 35 years living in Australia, but have already got itchy feet.
So they decided to mark five decades of married life with a return visit to Majorca, where they honeymooned after their wedding at Dean Bank Baptist Church, in Ferryhill, on March 31, 1956.
Mr Walker, 70, said: "We've enjoyed our lives together, we always travelled a lot so we never have time to get bored. Seeing the world is always best when you're sharing it with someone."
They emigrated to Australia in 1969, and ran a haulage firm near Sydney.
Mrs Walker, 71, said: "Australia was fantastic, it is warm and sunny so you always feel happy."
