A NEW fundraising boss has been appointed to help a hospice.
Jenny Green has taken up the job of director of funding at St Catherine's Hospice, in Scarborough, following the retirement of Mandy Mellers after 20 years in the post.
Ms Green, 30, will be rekindling a relationship with Scarborough that began years ago, when she studied and then worked in the town.
"I fell in love with Scarborough and with being by the sea - I'm delighted to be back and very excited about my new role," she said.
Ms Green was born in London and grew up in Kent, but came to the North Yorkshire coast in 1995 when she was studied coastal management and conservation at what was then a Scarborough campus for York University.
To help fund her studies, she did part-time care work, which began her desire to work in the field of caring.
