THE Tees Valley Engineering Partnership has appointed ROBIN DAVISON as chairman of its marketing group.
The 58-year-old has more than 40 years experience in the petrochemical, nuclear and oil and gas industries and has held specialist roles with a number of high-profile companies, including British Gas, Shell and Whessoe.
He is managing director of the Wolviston Group, a professional recruitment and employment agency, with over 1,000 engineers worldwide.
The Tees Valley Engineering Partnership (TVEP), funded by regional development agency One NorthEast, is an alliance of engineering organisations from across the region, working together to ensure the engineering sector remains competitive and profitable.
The marketing group was set up to increase the profile and reputation of the partnership and the engineering industry, in both the UK and abroad.
It will also promote the TVEP strategy in line with economic plans and make recommendations about future developments.
In his role as chairman, Mr Davison, who will be fulfilling the requirements of the position alongside his full-time job, will co-ordinate other volunteer members and report to Malcolm Potter, manager of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership.
He said: "The partnership is open to any company working within, and supporting, the engineering sector and we are keen to attract more marketing group members who can support the vision of the TVEP and are passionate about engineering."
