THE Archbishop of York, the Most Reverend Dr John Sentamu, will visit the Deanery of Stokesley tomorrow.

The visit is the eighth of 24 visits to the deaneries that make up the Diocese of York, which extends from the Yorkshire coast to the A1 and from the River Tees south to the Humber.

The Deanery of Stokesley includes the group of parishes around the town, including Yarm, Great Ayton, Nunth-orpe, Ingleby Barwick and some remote villages high in the Cleveland Hills.

Archbishop Sentamu will spend the morning meeting deanery clergy at St Francis of Assisi Church, Ingleby Barwick, the newest church in the diocese.

In the afternoon, he will make a series of short visits accompanied by the rural dean of Stokesley and priest-in-charge of Stainton with Hilton, the Reverend John Ford.

He will also visit Bilsdale Midcable Chop Gate CE Primary School, which is confederated with Carlton and Faceby Church of England Primary School under head Lynne Wood, to meet staff and pupils of both schools.

He will also travel to Kirklevington Grange Prison to meet prison chaplain the Reverend Mark Allsopp and governor Alan Richer.
