A CAR park that has been free from crime for three years has been hailed as an example to others.
Tanner Row car park, in York, owned by property development company Oakgate, has been awarded the Safer Parking Award for the second successive year.
PC Jim Shanks, of York Police, said: "There are no incidents of a criminal nature since the spring of 2003. Tanner Row is kept in a clean condition. The stairwells are brightly painted, clean, well-lit and devoid of graffiti or litter.
