VOLUNTEERS are needed in County Durham to help deal with young people who commit crime.
The County Durham Youth Engagement Service is looking for volunteers who get on with young people to train as Referral Order Panel members.
The panel listens to young people and challenges their attitudes and actions before deciding on a programme to deal with offending.
Referral Order Panels also give victims of crime an opportunity to say how it has affected them and what might help to make amends.
The service is looking for men and women aged 18 and over from every ethnic and social background who can represent their community and are good at listening and talking to young people.
For a recruitment pack, call James Firn on (01388) 776685.
