CANDIDATES hoping to become the chief executive for the North East Chamber of Commerce have until Friday to put themselves forward.
A shortlist of candidates is expected to be finalised a week later and interviews are likely to be held during the week of April 10.
The successful applicant will lead an organisation with more than 4,200 members, a multi-million-pound training company and successful international trade, events and commercial services arms.
Dylan Christie, of Northern Recruitment Group Executive, said there had been a lot of interest.
He said: "This is an exciting time for the chamber.
"It is important we make an exceptional appointment. We are seeking an individual with a distinctive mix of skills - an inspirational business leader with a proven track record, a first-class communicator, and someone who is passionate about the region."
Informal enquiries can be made to Mr Christie on 0191-2604484.
