VOLUNTEERS are needed to help deal with young people who commit crime.
The County Durham Youth Engagement Service (Yes) is looking for volunteers who get on with young people to train as Referral Order Panel members.
The panel listens to young people and challenges their attitudes and actions before deciding on a programme of intervention to deal with the offending behaviour.
The programme includes an element of reparation to the victim.
The panel also gives victims of crime an opportunity to say how it has affected them and what might help to make amends.
County Durham Yes is looking for men and women aged 18 and over from every ethnic and social background who are good at listening, talking and engaging with young people.
For more information or a recruitment pack, call James Firn on (01388) 776685.
