REPAIRS for Housing Hartlepool's tenants are set to be revolutionised through new technology.
A specialist repairs contact team has been set up, with staff using the latest computer software to determine what work is required at a particular property.
The system aims to ensure that tradesmen have the right parts with them when they call at a property to carry out repairs, guaranteeing a faster and more effective response to residents' problems.
A repairs hotline - 0800 052 5399 - will also be introduced from next Monday to enable tenants to report problems free of charge.
Colin Wilson, director of regeneration for the housing company, said: "We are determined to keep improving the quality, speed and convenience of our response when tenants report a fault.
"These changes are important steps towards providing a first-class repairs service."
