A CARE group is urging people to make use of its facilities.
Thirsk and Sowerby District Community Care Association opened its meeting room in October last year.
Some groups meet there every week, but time slots are still available.
The building's administrator, Sal Billany said: "We have a fantastic new meeting room here, and I am really looking forward to promoting all its great facilities to the local community, which includes appropriate access for all groups.
"One of our aims was to provide a meeting place for all members of the community at an affordable price.
"We are hoping to attract some new groups and individuals to using the room, while still providing a good service to our existing customers."
The meeting room was created by knocking down four derelict garages at the back of the association's premises, at Porters Vaults, a small alleyway off Thirsk Market Place.
It was named after the then manager, Gill Middleton.
