AN employment and training project is proving successful at getting people into work.
The multi-partnership scheme has secured jobs for 33 west Middlesbrough residents in six weeks.
The West Middlesbrough Works project, which is funded by West Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Trust (WMNT) and the European Social Fund, opened its doors in January.
The project offers five-day personal development programmes to help build confidence, teamwork, job search skills, motivation, communication and career focus.
Jan Sinclair, chief executive of WMNT said: "This is a first-class service for people living in Newport, West Lane and Whinney Banks.
"It combines a job-matching service to find the best fit between the skills of local people and the needs of an employer together with a personal development programme to boost candidates' skills and confidence."
