RESIDENTS at a sheltered housing complex have been baking for a Darlington hospice.
Staff and residents at Dinsdale Court, Middleton St George, raised £508 for St Teresa's Hospice at a coffee morning.
The money was collected by selling home-made cakes and coffee and organising a raffle.
Margaret Clemence, warden at Dinsdale Court, said: "My husband was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2005 and regularly attended the hospice until his condition made it too difficult.
"It is therefore a cause close to my heart and one that has a positive impact on many people in the local area."
Jane Bradshaw, St Teresa's Hospice director, said: "Every day I hear stories about how the hospice has affected people's lives.
"I am always touched that so many people feel compelled to help."
