DETECTIVES are taking no further action against a man they suspected of helping an alleged rapist escape.
Three men went on the run after the attack on a 17-year-old girl at the Spice Mahal, in Craghead, Stanley, County Durham, at 10.30pm on April 14, last year.
She claims she was raped while returning from the toilet as she waited for her food.
The catering workers fled when her furious family turned up to confront them.
Police launched a nation-wide hunt to find 26-year-old Sarabjit or Sabby, Singh, Harjinder Singh, 32, and a man known as Jimmy, who is thought to be in his forties.
They arrested Harjinder Singh in January on suspicion of assisting an offender.
He was bailed to appear at Consett Police Station yesterday but police have informed him he has no case to answer.
Anyone with information about the three wanted men is asked to call 0191-375 2511
