INFORMATION about two leap year babies born 50 years ago has been unearthed with help from The Northern Echo.
Ron Ashbridge, 81, of Lyons Road, Richmond, North Yorkshire, asked for help to find six babies captured in a photograph alongside his own son, Martin, on February 29, 1956.
The picture was taken for The Northern Echo's former sister paper, The Northern Despatch.
Mr Ashbridge had the idea after calling to wish his son a happy 50th birthday.
Readers came forward with information on two of the babies.
Gillian, daughter of Joyce Raine, of Bates Avenue, Darlington, married and became Gillian Pickles.
Her and husband Gordon lived in South Yorkshire for several years, before moving to Wiltshire.
They have three daughters, aged 25, 23 and 14.
Ann Elizabeth, daughter of Mareanne Sayer, of Sundial Cottage, Gayles, Richmond, married Ian Tallantire.
The couple had two sons, Ian and Andrew.
Mrs Tallantire died in 1995, aged 39.
The other four leap year babies born at the same time were:
* Rita, daughter of Elsie Walton, Victoria Road, Darlington;
* Keith, son of Sarah Golightly, Church Row, Melsonby;
* Roger Ian, son of R Armstrong, Darlington;
* Christine Laura, daughter of C Howard, Darlington.
If you have any information about the other babies, call Joe Willis, at The Northern Echo on (01748) 850407.
