A CHARITY health care centre is extending its services to offer treatment to people with long-term neurological conditions.
The Pioneering Care Centre, in Newton Aycliffe, offers neuro-physiotherapy in its natural therapy suite for people coping with a stroke, multiple sclerosis, head injuries, spinal injuries and Parkinson's Disease.
The treatment involves a full assessment to determine each individual's problems and then a tailored exercise and therapeutic programme is created to those needs.
It aims to increase flexibility and muscle strength, to reduce muscle spasms and improve posture and body alignment, which can help increase mobility and boost a person's independence and quality of life.
Chartered physiotherapist Serena Hartley specialises in the area and has worked within the NHS for more than 15 years and with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
To book an appointment, call the centre on (01325) 327444. Concessionary rates are available for anyone on benefits, including state pension.
