SCORES of budding footballers battled the cold weather in a football tournament at the Eastbourne sports complex in Darlington.
Harrowgate Hill Primary School secured a 2-0 victory against Abbey Road Junior School in the BT six-aside community cup for under-11s.
Twenty-three schools from across the North-East and North Yorkshire took part in the annual tournament, organised by Football In The Community (FITC).
The winners will go through to the northern finals on May 3, with the chance to compete in the national cup final at the Millennium Stadium, in Cardiff.
FITC officer Kevin Stonehouse said: "Everyone had a brilliant day, despite the cold conditions."
