TALKS are to be held over future housing numbers in a North Yorkshire district.
Hambleton District Council and the North York Moors Planning Authority are to discuss the strategy development plan, which suggests building ten affordable homes a year in the area until 2021.
Sarah Housden, the park authority's policy manager, said the aim of the strategy was to focus development on sustainable locations.
However, she added that Hambleton's "settlement hierarchy" approach would restrict other forms of housing development in the villages straddling the park boundary.
She said the park's preferred option was to allow infill development for local needs housing in Cowesby, Kepwick, Low Kilburn, Nether Stilton, Over Stilton and Thimbleby.
She said: "This does create some conflict with Hambleton's approach which will need to be discussed further as the park's strategy is progressed."
Once approved, Hambleton's strategy will go for approval to the Environment Secretary.
