YOUNGSTERS have named a youth centre being opened in Barnard Castle.
More than 50 names were put forward for the YMCA cafe in Galgate, Barnard Castle.
A vote to find the top five created a shortlist of Nosh/ Nosh, Unlimited, Graffiti Bar, Psycho Bar and Doctor D's Palace of Funk, with a second vote leading to Unlimited being chosen as the winner.
Management board member Rachel Tweddle said: "Having a name for the cafe means that the project is a reality for many young people in Teesdale. The fact that they organised the voting themselves demonstrates that they really are at the heart of the development."
Work began on the £150,000 project earlier this month and is expected to be completed in about 20 weeks.
