SCHOOLCHILDREN across Darlington will take part in a week-long awareness campaign for a hospice.
St Teresa's Hospice is holding its first Raising and Giving (Rag) Week to raise money for its care services.
The event, similar to a university students' charity week, will run all week.
Alexa Wilson, a recent university graduate who works at the hospice, said this year's event would be more about awareness of the hospice. She added: "I thought why not try a Rag week with schools."
Ten secondary schools are taking part in the event.
Some are holding non-uniform days and handing round collection buckets.
Wristbands, in the hospice's red and green colours with the words Giving To Life, will also be sold in schools.
And Haughton School is running a talent show to raise funds
