A NEWLY-CREATED young people's jazz band is appealing for the community to help them become an established musical group in Darlington.
The Junior Marching Jazz Band is the first of its kind in the town, and in the month it has been in existence, has recruited 30 youngsters aged between six and 18.
However, the band - based in Maidendale House, in Firthmoor - need people to help train them and make costumes for parades.
New band members are always welcome to attend the band's rehearsals, which take place each Saturday in Maidendale House between 2pm and 5pm.
Anyone who would like to help train the band, who has previous jazz or musical experience, or who could help make costumes can contact band leader Sean on 0191-4878 776 or 07722 140289.
