A NEW substance misuse service for the under-19s will be launched soon.
Stockton Together Against Substance Harm (Stash) provides a comprehensive service for young people with substance problems.
The service includes advice and information, harm reduction, clinical interventions, work with families and drop-in sessions.
There is also an open referral system and support for parents, carers and family members.
Sue Maddison, Stockton Borough Council's head of drug strategy, said: "We are committed to tackling drugs and changing lives of young people in the area and are pleased to be working in partnership with Stash to increase the help and support available to young people, their families and carers.
"Stash compliments the existing substance misuse services within Stockton and provides a valuable asset to the communities that live with drugs."
Stash can be contacted on (01642) 607028 or by visiting itsbase at Malborough House, 30/32 Yarm Road, Stockton, between 8.45am and 4.45pm Monday to Friday.
The official launch, on Friday, takes place at the Swallow Hotel, Stockton, and the public are welcome to attend, between 3pm and 5pm.
