IF Chaetan Kotur has designs on fast cars when he leaves school, he is off to a racing start.
The 15-year-old has won £1,500 for his school, Yarm School, with his winning design for a Jaguar 4x4 model.
The teenager is also being treated to a visit to the Jaguar factory and design centre, in Gaydon, Coventry.
The money and the red carpet treatment are his rewards for winning a schools' competition, set by car dealer Reg Vardy, to design the car of the future.
Coming a very close second was Red House School, Norton, where an innovative design was compiled by three pupils, Richard Robinson, Lewis Emmerton and Michael Hughes. Their school will receive £750 for computers or sports equipment.
Neil Dunkley, dealer principal at Reg Vardy in Stockton, said: "We were astounded by the calibre of the entries.
"However, Chaetan Kotur's stood out from the crowd.
" His futuristic design was not only imaginative and creative but also looked stunning."
